My bike is covered in mud. Should I Jet Wash it?

On the surface, the easiest way to clean your bike appears to be washing with a Jet hose. It can get rid of excess mud and grime from your wheels and frame. However, in our opinion, it can do more damage than good. If you are going to, be very careful not to point the hose at the bearings surfaces - hubs, bottom bracket, headset, pedal bearings as these are packed with grease. Even if they are sealed units the jet wash will usually blast the grease out!

This risk is amplified when looking at Electric bikes, as Jet washing can often be the cause of failure of the electronics. Ask yourself, would I Jet wash my TV? We recommend using our range of Muc-off cleaning products coupled with a bucket of warm water/sponge for the safest and most effective way of keeping your bike squeaky clean!

There's a few dodgy noises coming from my bike - Can you repair it?

We most certainly can! Whether its a simple puncture or a comprehensive strip down, we've got all bases covered. Rather than repeating ourselves, check out this page for more details!

How long does it take for my bike to be repaired?

We kindly ask that you book your bike in advance, either on the phone or by swinging by for a quick inspection of what may need to be done. We aim to have slots available in the workshop in around a week, however this can vary depending on the time of year, size of the job, and parts availability. We will consult you if there are any significant changes to the price, time, or extent of the repair before we proceed with any additional work.

Do you sell second-hand bikes?

No, unfortunately we do not sell second-hand bikes. We believe that a new bike, with full warranty and safety guarantee provides you with the best cycling experience, with minimal stress when riding into the future.

Do you offer refunds?

Our Returns Policy gives you 30 days to return or exchange an item bought online with a valid receipt. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, we cannot offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a refund or exchange, goods must be returned in a re-saleable condition. That means your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. The item must be in the original packaging and returned with any accessories, labels and free gifts or bonus items. Please click here for our full refunds policy.

Do you offer work experience?

No, we are not able to offer this I'm afraid. Due to the nature of the business, our mechanical work is done by qualified professionals and health & safety comes as a top priority. On the shop floor in the week, aside from admin & bike building, there are only so many times the tyres can be pumped up!

Do you provide Bike Fitting Services?

We do! As you can imagine, we've had to put bike fitting on hold whilst government restrictions have come into place to stop the spread of Covid-19, however as of *Jan 2022*, we are looking to restart our fitting practices.

A bike fit is of paramount importance if you are to feel comfortable, efficient and powerful whilst riding your bike, and we have Retul and Trek sizing equipment in store. You can read more here.

Do you have Demo bikes available?

Again, normally, we do, however as a consequence of global restrictions on manufacturing and shipping, the bike industry has been tipped on it's head and stock is a little more limited that before! This means that whilst we are able to get in sufficient stock, albeit sometimes a few months later than we'd like, manufactures are less inclined to lend us bikes purely for Demo. We'll keep you posted if this changes in the near future.

Do you facilitate Cycle Schemes?

More often than not, yes. There are a plethora of Cycle Schemes out there, with varying terms and conditions. Check out this page for more details.

I hope these answered your burning bike-shop related questions! If not, feel free to get in touch via email info@beyondmountainbikes.com or phone 01483 267676. Happy riding!
